The bench: This bench is a work of art. The stain and gloss finish are on point. Feels very sturdy. Pleasing to the eye and surprisingly comfortable for sitting for short periods of time. I wanted the bench for show and occasional extra seating. The 4 foot bench will fit 2 adults with room to spare. I believe it weighs about 40 pounds. I've used it as a foot rest and may get some use doubling as a coffee table.Shipping: Boards were attached in the shape of a frame to each foot with screws. The cardboard packaging in the shape of a triangle (kind of). I'm assuming for stability during shipping and to encourage keeping the bench upright to prevent damage. With Amazon Prime it arrived in 2 days.Side notes:1: The most important issue I have is that the feet were filthy. I had placed the bench on carpet for a period of time and found 4 round dirt marks in the carpet after moving the bench. I used Oxy clean on the carpet asap and it cleaned up ok. Something to be aware of when unpacking. It would be important for the furniture maker to address this in the future. I wiped the feet as best I could before cutting out 4 circles of fabric and glued them to the feet to prevent it from happening again.2: On one edge of the bench that is part of the seat appears to have taken a blow. There is visible damage that does not look naturally occurring. It must have happened before it was stained and finished as the finish looks fine in that area. A small piece broke off when I was inspecting the area. I quickly debated if I should send it back but decided to glue the piece in place. It's not noticeable by sight at this point. Something I think I can live with. All in all I am very happy with this bench. I am already looking at other pieces for future purchases. I have no problem recommending this to anyone with the additional information about the extra care needed for the feet. To Montana Woodworks just please consider these pieces are coming out of the shop and going right into the home. Please send these out clean to avoid any unwanted issues.
