Winsome Verona Small 3-Seater Bench in Walnut & Black - Perfect for Entryway, Bedroom, or Living Room Seating

I do like this bench but I found that my entryway space is larger than I expected so this bench looks a little small in it. My own fault for not doing a better job with measurements. The bench arrived quickly (with Prime) and in very good condition. It was very easy to put together and didn't have any problems with the instructions. So far the bench is very sturdy.I bought this for shoe storage and for a place to sit in order to put the shoes on. I found the black bins to be smaller than expected and my husband cannot easily fit his shoes inside of the bin. I am a size 7 and can fit 1 pair of sneakers, slippers and 2-3 pairs of summer flat sandals (plenty for me). I decided to swap out the black bins for larger baskets I had so now I have 2 longer baskets on the bottom and 2 smaller baskets on the shelf for my son's shoes (small at this point).Overall, this is a very nice bench for the price.Easy to assemble piece of furniture, even for me - a woman! I use this bench as a shoe holder that displays them very nicely in my closet. The bottom baskets are spacious for sandals, slip ons, flip flops, etc. My only complaint is that the fabric on the baskets is not durable and after a few pulls on the handles the fabric tore off without a way of fixing it properly. I flipped the basket around and used the other handle until that eventually tore. The baskets are poorly constructed and over time the sides began to bend inward at the top. The bench is a nice cherry wood and is a good sturdy piece of furniture. Baskets can be replaced.I needed a smallish, stylish storage table for my recently redecorated sitting room. This storage bench fit the bill completely. It was a great price, and while not the most heavy duty built, its fairly sturdy. Weight limit is 200 lbs and I would not go over that. But what gave it a whole five stars in my book is that I could put it together by myself. I am older and have some mobility issues, but this took me about an hour to put together - with plenty of breaks. All the pieces were there, I didn't have leftovers, and even when I forgot a step, it was easy to go back and recover. It looks great in my sitting room. I think I'll even splurge and purchase the rattan baskets that are sold separately. Packing was also good, nothing broken or chipped.We have had this bench for over a year now and it is still holding up; we recently moved and it held up well during that. We have it in our garage entrance as a place to put our keys and sit while putting our shoes on. We have the baskets on the top shelf and shoes below them.The baskets fit our gloves and hats for the winter and my wife puts her work bag in one of them on the weekends.(I hate clutter and stuff on the floor so this works well) across the bottom fits maybe 4 or 5 pairs of shoes, not very many but good enough for the two of us.Putting it together was simple enough the directions were clear all the pieces were there. The package was undamaged from Amazon and UPS shipped it in two days with Prime.This bench is sturdy, attractive, and very functional. I was afraid it might look odd in our home since we have mostly Espresso colored furniture, but it fits in just fine even though the color is a bit lighter. The middle shelf fits sneakers and even some of my lower pumps and sandals. I use the bins to stow away ankle boots, flip flops, and other misc items. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase!Edit: I originally said this bench was sturdy, but I took off two stars because the bench top started to split before we even had it for 1 year. My husband and I are not that heavy and never sat on it at the same time--we actually use the bench top mostly for boot storage rather than seating. I still find it very useful for shoe storage, but we keep it in the closet now instead of by the door so we won't be tempted to sit on it when we put on our shoes.Great price for this product. The Walnut color is okay but do wish it was a bit darker.I had an issue with the bottom piece of the bench. The cut was not done correctly on one corner. There is a sheet to fax in for replacement parts but I was not in the mood to wait on a piece. I made the cut myself and finished the install. Most pieces fit pretty well together with a little bit of force needed. The corner I cut needed 1/4" taken off on one edge to fit the legs in place. A 1/4 inch extra was taken off on the wrong side by the manufacturer.Overall, the section is not too noticeable and it works.It took ~30 mins to put the unit together including the time to quickly cut a corner.Bench came well packaged, with no damage. I was able to put it together in 30min by myself. Everything fit nicely. I did have to dig out a bit of glue from the track for the back board, so check for it. It held up under 250lbs sitting on it, so it's sturdy - although I wouldn't "plop" on it.I would've given this 5 stars if not for a problem with the included cloth storage bins. When I picked one of them up to open it, the handle and some of the material came off in my hand.Packaging good protection, box damaged but wood intact.Overall unit fits together nicely, appears to be sturdy, nice and compact. So far, I would purchase it again.Box could say open this way.Wood sections need labels (A, B, C, D, E)Instruction sheet appeared to be tossed in, wrinkled, made me a little nervous at first (fear product previously returned), important things were as they should be.Instructions sheet needs to explain screw driver needed.Instructions could say/ indicate with arrow direction to turn screws and how many times.Very nice bench, perfect size, good storage capacity. Solid and well built.I changed the baskets as black was not to my liking, and put in white ones. Perfect!Was a nice unit apart from the fact that the joints didn't line up so the unit couldn't be assembled and the top of the unit had a huge crack running across the width of the bench...If you get a functioning unit i'm sure it would be ok, but I was sent out a damaged item - I mean to people check these things before they go out??
