The bench is easy to assemble. It’s not a bright cherry red like the picture, but it’s still pretty.Part of the wood was cracked when it came but I covered it with an outdoor pillow because I didn’t want to hassle with returning such a large item. It’s holding up well so far disputing the little crack.This bench is not as heavy as I had expected; however, everything fit together fine. I took to heart the recommendation to have it finished… I think they meant with a water proof coating each year.Although I got my refund credit immediately, it was frustrating to have received a product that was poorly manufactured. Sometimes the seating and back slats had the smooth surface facing up, othertimes they were facing down. With the textured/rougher up, the seating would have been more uncomfortable. I also did not think that the cut of wood was very substantial. I never got to sit in it, however. In laying out the parts, I noticed that one of the two side pieces (with an arm and two legs) had the holes drilled into it incorrectly, with one of them facing the wrong way. No way I could fix it. It was a pain lugging the 30 lb. Box back to UPS.I bought this bench to use on my deck. It is called a Garden Bench, which indicates it is for out door use. The paint is actually separating from the wood and looks like white cracks against the red paint where the underneath is showing. I would like to return it and get a refund.Bench was all scratched up looks like it was in somebody’s backyard taken apart and put in the box?I received this bench and was instantly impressed. It was easy to put together, easy to move around. It sits on my front porch and I got many compliments. It is sturdy and the color is perfect! Love it!
